19-year-old walks free after stealing slippers from Shoezone in Scarborough

A 19-year-old woman has been ‘conditionally released’ for six months after stealing two slippers from Shoezone in Scarborough and more than £180 worth of clothing.

Denisa Zevian, 19, from Scarborough in North Yorkshire, appeared in Magistrates Court on Friday January 14.

Zevian has been charged with shop theft after stealing two slippers worth £13.98 from Shoezone in Scarborough and more than £180 worth of clothing from Mountain Warehouse in Scarborough.

The 19-year-old was, however, conditionally released, meaning she has been released and no further action will be taken unless she commits a new offense within the six-month period.

She was also made to pay £22 to victim services and £85 in court costs.

Zevian pleaded guilty to both offences, as well as failing to surrender to police or court on bail, with no separate sentencing.
