Hartselle Spring Football Training in High Gear – The Hartselle Enquirer

Spring training has been going on for a few weeks for the Hartselle Tigers. The Tigers, who were ranked No. 2 heading into the state playoffs, are firing key players on both sides of the ball, including wide receiver Izayah Fletcher and running back Ri Fletcher.

“Spring is a time to reintroduce who we are and establish our program’s identity,” said coach Bryan Moore. “We’re excited to get back to basics and rebuild our team. It’s been a great off-season and our kids have worked really hard. We’re excited to see how that applies to the field.

This spring is Moore’s third with the Tigers, and he continues to put his stamp on the program and make him a permanent playoff contender.

Despite losing quarterback JT Blackwood until graduation, Moore said the quarterback position would be a strength for the Tigers. Rising junior Landon Blackwood, JT’s brother, is leading the way this spring while rising senior Jack Smith, last season’s backup, is currently on the Tigers’ baseball program. Sophomore Noah Lee also gets some meaningful shots with the team.

Hartselle will wrap up spring training this Saturday with a spring game against Huntsville at JP Cain Stadium. The freshman team will play at 9 a.m., followed by the junior varsity team at 10 a.m., then the varsity team at 11 a.m.
