Thursday, April 28 is one of the biggest nights in the NFL: the first round of the draft. It’s a night where fans still have hope for their teams, players take to the podium as their dreams come true and the experts break down each selection and how it will help the team.
The first round kicks off three days of non-stop football content and marks the first introduction of players with their teams. To make a good first impression, players often spend a lot of time and effort deciding what outfit to wear. Fashion is in the spotlight and the actors do not disappoint.
This year, players released diamond chains, championship rings, expensive watches and more.
Here are some of the best looks from the night:
Why have one channel with your nickname on it, when you can have two? Cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner’s marketing is strong,
Gardner said, “You can never have too much sauce.” No arguments here.
I appreciate a bold costume choice and former Georgia Bulldog Jordan Davis wore his old colors on the NFL Draft mat. The black suit had a red diagonal stripe down the front and Davis was accessorized with a chain, a watch and his championship ring which he showed off.
Another Georgia Football alum, Nakobe Dean, also showed off his championship ring on the red carpet. Dean is also my top choice for best dressed of the night. The pink suit, along with the white bow detailing was enough to land him on the best-dressed list, but the two-tone hat pushes the linebacker even higher.
That neon green/yellow color is hard to get, but I don’t hate it on Jermaine Johnson II. Year 2000 inspired goggles and black pants and shirt to tone down the suit jacket complete the outfit.
The sockless look has been popular in menswear for a while now and has been a red carpet theme of the NFL Draft and Johnson jumped on the trend.
If I had to describe Jameson Williams’ look in one word, it would be “clean”. It doesn’t have any bold prints or crazy colors, but the classic red, plus the perfect fit, chain and matching trainers make it a standout draft cut.
Kayvon Thibodeaux said he would be the best dressed in the NFL Draft and stepped out in a Dolce & Gabbana suit and shoes from Italy. Thibodeaux credited the designers for helping with his costume. I would describe her costume as “chic with style”.
