SNOWSHOE — Snowshoe Mountain officials plan to open the resort for skiing and snowboarding the day before Thanksgiving on Nov. 23, weather permitting.
“Fall is a special time here on the mountain,” said Snowshoe President Patti Duncan. “The leaves are beautiful, the weather is fantastic and the excitement for winter is really starting to build.
“Our team has been working hard all summer to improve our customers’ winter experience, and we’re excited to see that all that hard work will soon pay off.”
Snowshoe Mountain will be open daily from November 23 through March 26 for skiing, lodging, dining, shopping, activities, outdoor adventure operations, and spa services, weather and circumstance permitting. allow it.
New or improved resort features include an improved beginner’s pitch; new access to the village via the Grabhammer lift; and continued snowmaking improvements at Snowshoe and Silver Creek. The Snowshoe mobile app will allow visitors to track their ski trails and earn badges, check the snow report, navigate the mountain with live walking routes, purchase tickets and activities, and stay in touch with their friends and family, all in real time.
The snowshoe event calendar for the winter includes West Virginia No Ski Day on Dec. 11; Silver Creek and Coca-Cola Tubing Park opening day; and Winter Brewfest on December 17.

Snowshoe Mountain covers a total area of 11,000 acres in the Appalachian Mountain Range and includes the second highest point in the state at 4,848 feet above sea level.
