The green’s football season opener at kick-off

HONOLULU — Popular reggae band The Green will help kick off the 2022 University of Hawaii football season with a special pre-game concert Saturday, August 27 at 2:30 p.m. at SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center. The theme for Saturday’s game is “all green” and fans are encouraged to wear GREEN.

The concert is open only to ticket holders for Saturday’s UH-Vanderbilt game and admission is free. Match tickets will be scanned at the entrance to the SimpliFi Arena. Remaining game tickets can be purchased at

Gates to the arena open at 1:30 p.m. and parking on the UH Mānoa campus opens at 12:30 p.m. Only pre-sold football pass holders will be permitted access to the Lower Campus parking structure. All others will be directed to the upper campus lots by East-West Road (via Dole Street) or Maile Way (via University Ave.). Parking for these lots is $15.

Food and beverages will be sold inside the SimpliFi Arena. No food and drink from outside is allowed and no re-entry into the concert is permitted.

The concert is part of the UH’ Bows Fest pregame. Stadium gates open at 2:30 p.m. Prior to each UH home football game, fans are invited to enjoy a wonderful mix of activities, food and drink, and entertainment located at Les Murakami Stadium, the Clarence TC Ching Athletic Complex and SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff. Center start two hours before kick-off. Additionally, there will be a sponsor village presented by Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union, Keiki Inflatable Fun Zone and an H-Zone merchandise tent.

Bank of Hawaii is the home football opener sponsor.”all greenand will distribute 2,000 glow sticks and award more than 42,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles during the game.

  • The first 3,000 fans receive a UH Football card, presented by Waikiki Malia by Outrigger, with a chance to redeem it for a special prize
  • Souvenir cards and free time cards will be available for fans
  • Farmers’ t-shirts will be thrown into the stands between the first and second quarters
  • One lucky student will enter the “Raising Cane’s Quarterback Challenge” for a chance to win Raising Cane’s for a year
